Eight Random Facts About Jeanne Dininni: A Meme

July 20th 2007 09:00

I've Been Tagged

Lillie Ammann, at A Writer's Words, An Editor's Eye, has tagged me for the Eight Random Things Meme.

Bloggers who have been tagged must write a post on their own blog in which they share eight things about themselves that their readers don’t know. They then tag eight other bloggers to keep the meme going.

Here are the Rules:

1. Each blogger must post these rules first.

2. Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about him/herself.

3. Bloggers who are tagged must write a post on their own blog about their eight things and must also include these rules in that post.

4. Tagged bloggers need to select eight other bloggers, whom they tag to keep the meme going, and they must list the names of the chosen bloggers at the end of their blog posts.

5. They then must leave each blogger a comment telling them that they’ve been tagged and that they should read the tagger's blog to learn more about the meme.

Ready? Here are Eight Random Facts About Jeanne:

1. Like Lillie Ammann, I enjoy serving God by serving my church. One way I do this is by writing a weekly sermon summary and discussion sheet for our small groups to use for study. I also serve on both the First Response Team, writing messages of encouragement, and the Prayer Team.

2. As a college re-entry student, I (finally!) completed my A.A. in General Studies at age 53, graduating from Cuesta College with High Honors in May, 2006.

3. I know quite a bit of American Sign Language (ASL), learned during two years of college study, but wish I were more fluent.

4. I am a permanent member of Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society and served as Treasurer of the Society's Gamma Gamma Chapter during the 2006/2007 academic year .

5. I am a Notary Public.

6. I am a freelance writer, and one of the venues through which I sell my work is the Constant Content website.

7. I generally prefer to write--and read--non-fiction, though I have written poetry, fiction, and humor, as well.

8. The ratio of males to females among my siblings is the exact opposite of the ratio of males to females among my children: I have one brother and three sisters, but three sons and one daughter.

Hope you've found these eight random facts to be of some small interest.

Jeanne:

You left me a message at my site (www.adversityuniversity.blog spot.com) and told me about your "8 Random Facts," so here I am, learning more about you.

How cool is it that you happen to know sign language?!?!? Me too. Although I didn't start to learn it until I arrived to college, I use it on occasion when communicating with other deaf friends.

Thanks so much for letting the blogsphere know a little more about you. It's fun, isn't it?

Stephen

Hi, Stephen!

Thanks for stopping by to read my "Eight Random Facts"! It is fun finding out more about one another!

The fact that I know sign language is one of the reasons I took such a great interest in your blog, Adversity University. The other is that it's a well-written blog, with many inspiring and encouraging stories!

Knowing sign language is also the main reason I offered to be on the review team for your upcoming book!

I find it fascinating that, although you are deaf, you didn't learn sign language until you went to college. I guess there's hope for me, yet! Of course, the fact that you didn't learn sign until college is a real testament to how well you are able to communicate without it! I admire you!

Have a wonderful day!

The random facts question has repeatedly intrigued me. I wrote a response to a similar tag before and reflect back on answers that instinctively shot out;

Really Long Link

If I was asked about 8 random things right now, I would list the following;

1) I have felt what its like to stand above the clouds and sense the night skies from a Chilean Observatory.

2) I have flown as a passenger in the cockpit of a plane during aerial team acrobatic manoeuvers.

3) I make sense of the present by learning to detach from my limited perception of the past.

4) I evolve to realize those people I had thought were my enemies are some of my most profound teachers.

5) I trust my intuition implicitly.

6) I believe love and compassion are life-tranforming energies that bring us back to ourselves

7) I have grown to intuit worth in the form of kindness rather than to measure it in terms of degrees or measurable competency.

8) Life has taught me that inner satisfaction, like peace, is immeaurable, yet always within reach.

Jeanne, I discovered yoru blog link as I was exploring the blog of Adversity University. You are a gifted writer. The topics you raise stimulate the mind and spark the imagination. Thanks for choosing to share parts of yourself. I would invite you to discover the Dreambuilders Australia blog.

Thanks so much, Liara, for those very kind words! I'm so glad to hear that you find my posts mentally stimulating and that they spark your imagination. As a blogger, I could hardly ask for a better endorsement! That's precisely what I hope to do for the writers who read my blog!

I stopped by your blog the other day and apologize that, though I found it quite intriguing, I was so swamped with waiting work that I ended up leaving without commenting. (I feel terrible to admit that, but sometimes I feel as if there simply aren't enough hours in the day.)

I'll have to stop by Dreambuilders again--and definitely make sure to leave a comment this time!

Thanks for stopping back by!
Jeanne
