Writer's Notes is Moving to Its Own Domain!
May 18th 2007 11:50
Just wanted to let everyone here at Orble know that my Writer's Notes blog is moving to its own domain and can now be found at www.writersnotes.net. We are still in the midst of changing it over, so things aren't fully organized yet, but the blog is live and should very soon be ready to go!
This is a very exciting opportunity to reach a larger audience and help even more writers reach their writing goals--and I'm looking forward to it!
Farewell, Orble.Com--Hello WritersNotes.Net! I know I'll still be part of the same great group of writers that make up the Orble community--which is fantastic! Yet, at the same time, I'll be able to enjoy the opportunity of making even more writing friends! And that's a winning combination!
So, this is "Farewell," but not "Good-bye"! The next post you read will be from Writer's Notes.Net!
Till then,
Jeanne

I like Orble very much! In fact, it's the folks at Orble who are giving me my own domain! This is why I said I'd still be a part of the Orble writing community.
When you become a blogger for Orble, they monitor your progress, and when they feel you've posted enough interesting and popular content, participated in Orble enough by leaving comments for others, etc., etc., they offer you your own domain.
By the way, I apologize for the duplicate post--both here and on my new domain! I'm having a bit of trouble with the transition, but hopefully all that will soon be fixed! Looking forward to seeing you at my new site, as well!
Sincerely,
Jeanne

Appreciate it! I only wish Orble would hurry up and do the formatting for me! (I want the setup to be the same as it is here at Orble.Com, but don't know how to change it myself.) They've also said they'd move my old posts to the new blog, but haven't done so yet. It looks like a brand new blog over there, with no list of old posts and no archives!

When I transferred my two previous Orble blogs over to domain blogs, I had to transfer everything manually, a process with which I'm still not completely finished. I kind of liked that, though, because it forced me to take a closer look at some of the postings, and I ultimately decided not to transfer all of them to the new blog.
Whether you're being assisted or going it on your own, moving to a domain blog is exciting!

Thanks for the info on your experiences moving to a domain blog--or two! Charles (Orbler) actually promised to move my old posts over to the new domain--and I wouldn't even begin to know how to do so myself!
Don't know how to rearrange the location of everything on my page, either, to create basically the same look I have on my old blog--with a few minor changes, such as colors, etc.
Can't figure out how to change the color of my Google Adsense ads, either, to make them match my page. But I've written to Orbler and posted a few questions about these things on the Writer's Forum, so hopefully I'll have some answers soon!
I agree with you: Moving to my own domain is exciting--but a bit scary at the same time!
Enjoy your Sunday!
