Mark Your Calendar! Two WN Stops on Dream or Destiny Book Tour Start Monday

One week from today--Monday, November 10th--Writer's Notes will host the first of Lillie Ammann's two WN stops on her blog book tour for her newly released mystery-romance novel, Dream or Destiny. Two of Lillie's last stops (during the final week of her tour) will be spent at Writer's Notes (the second will be Friday, November 14th, the tour's final day) where she will share details about her book, her experience with the publishing industry, and a free print copy of her book (which will go to one lucky Writer's Notes reader).

So, please stay tuned for Monday's post, and plan to leave a comment so you'll be entered into the drawing for the free book. (The winner will be announced in Friday's post.)

Monday, November 10th: My Dream or Destiny Book Review/Book Giveaway

Monday's post will contain my review of Dream or Destiny, and, as mentioned above, everyone who leaves a comment on that post between posting time Monday and midnight U.S. PST Thursday will be entered into the drawing for a free copy of the book. (Both U.S. and international readers are encouraged to enter.)

Friday, November 14th: Interview with Lillie/Open Question Forum/Book Contest Winner Announcement

In Friday's post, aside from announcing the lucky winner, I will interview Lillie about her book and her experiences with book publishing and will offer readers the opportunity to ask Lillie questions about the ins and outs of getting a book published. So, bring your questions about your own novel or other book and plan to ask Lillie everything you've always wanted to know about getting your book into print.

While Lillie doesn't claim to be an expert on every area of publishing, she does have considerable experience in certain areas of book publishing and she'd be more than happy to help with any questions she's able to answer to help you get that much closer to publishing your own book-length manuscript.

Last Chance to Win a Free Copy of Dream or Destiny

Don't miss these two stops at the end of Lillie's blog book tour--and don't pass up your opportunity to win a free copy of her suspenseful murder mystery, Dream or Destiny! Be sure to visit Writer's Notes between Monday, November 10th and Friday, November 14th to learn what Lillie's book is all about and enter the drawing, and on November 14th to read some fascinating info about Lillie, her book, and book publishing in general, to have your questions about publishing your own book answered, and to find out whether you will soon be reading your own complimentary copy of Dream or Destiny!

Hope to see you here!
Jeanne

Lillie,

I'm happy to host these two stops on your tour and also looking forward to (reading) your advice! These tour stops will provide a great opportunity for all of us to learn more about you, your book, and the publishing industry...for readers to have their own personal questions answered...and for one lucky reader to walk away with the prize!

How exciting! Thanks for offering to not only provide a free copy of your book to the winner but also to ship the book to the winner, free of charge!

Thanks for stopping by!
Jeanne

Oh, Lillie is finally arrived at Jeanne's Writersnote

I bet it's has been a very busy week for Lillie.

Jeanne, I can't even wait for the Nov 14th interview and I was guessing it's gonna be a very interesting interview!

Also, please drop me a PM to remind me of the interview, Jeanne

Wilson,
It's turning out to be a very busy three weeks. My clients are ready for me to quit spending so much time on my book and to get back to doing their work.

Wilson,

I'm happy to host these two stops on Lillie's blog book tour! Lillie's interview will be interesting and informative, and she has graciously offered to answer readers' questions about publishing their work. I've made a note on my calendar to send you a reminder.

Hope you'll also drop by for the review and contest on Monday. All you'll have to do is leave a comment to be entered into the drawing, and you could soon be the proud owner of your very own copy of Dream or Destiny!

Thanks for the visit!

Lillie,

I can only imagine how busy you've been! With all the guest posts you've written and interviews you've done over the past few weeks, I can't imagine how you'd have much time for anything else! But, you're coming down to home stretch, so hang in there just a little bit longer! I'm sure this book tour will be well worth the effort!

Again, I'm so happy to be hosting two stops on your tour--one of them (the interview) the final stop which wraps up the entire tour!

Best wishes for a successful tour,
Jeanne

Jeanne,
My clients will be glad when this tour is over. I am having a wonderful time, but it is very time-consuming.

Lillie,

I'm sure your clients can hardly wait to have you all to themselves again! And I definitely understand how much you must be looking forward to a bit of a breather after the flurry of activity and downright work you've faced over the past few weeks. Hopefully, your clients won't work you too hard right at tour's end, so you'll have at least a few days to rest! (Guess it's good that the tour will end on a weekend! In my book, that's the best way to plan a tour--if you'll pardon the pun!)

Jeanne,
There will be no rest for me. I have several projects with deadlines during or immediately following the tour. I love staying busy ... but sometimes it gets a little overwhelming. I just had to put out a cry for help with our church newsletter, which is one of my volunteer projects. The newsletter needs to get to the printer early next week. Fortunately, a talented parishioner has volunteered to help with the layout.

Lillie,

Sorry to hear that you won't get to rest at the end of the tour. While it is great to stay busy, we all need to rest once in a while. Glad to hear you have a volunteer who has offered to help with the church newsletter, though. That should take some of the pressure off you.

I currently volunteer on several church teams/projects myself, so I know how busy they can keep us. At the same time, while these activities can be quite time-consuming, it's a real privilege to be able to do our part to help (though we ourselves may sometimes need a little help with them).

Hope you'll get some rest soon!

Jeanne,
I've produced our church newsletter for about 12 years, and I created the first Web site about 8 years ago and have the Webmaster ever since. It's good to have some help and a chance for someone else to learn the ropes, so I can pass on the baton some day.

Sounds like you're fairly entrenched in the two volunteer positions, Lillie, after all that time! And your faithfulness and dedication to these ministries say a lot about you.

It is always a good idea to train a replacement, though, so you have someone to fill in when needed and so there's someone who can take over when the time comes that you're ready to give up a particular responsibility.

Such exciting news!

I know so many people who "want to write a book". The question I have is...how does one get beyond the point of wanting and start doing? How does one get serious about actually writing a novel?

Comment by Lillie Ammann

November 7th 2008 20:28
moonglow,
This is a great question. Please come back next Friday and ask it. I expect people will be more apt to read the comments when they know I'm answering questions, and I'd like everyone who is interested to be able to read the answer and perhaps ask follow-on questions.

Moonglow,

Thanks so much for your highly relevant input! Your question is an excellent one. As Lillie has mentioned, we will be opening up the "floor" for questions about writing/publishing novels (and other books) on Friday, Nov. 14th, which Lillie will address in comments.

Perhaps I'll even turn the questions and answers into another post if we get enough interesting feedback that would be applicable to a variety of writers. I'll also be posting an interview with Lillie on that day which might answer some of the other questions aspiring writers have about publishing their books.

Don't forget to stop by Monday the 10th, as well, to read my review of Dream or Destiny and leave a comment to enter the drawing for a free copy of Lillie's book.

Thanks again for your feedback!
Jeanne

Lillie,

I think you're right about Writer's Notes readers being more likely to read through next Friday's comments since they know you'll be answering writers' questions about getting their books published. Many writers--and aspiring novelists/non-fiction book authors in particular--share the same questions and concerns about the process of creating a salable manuscript and getting it published.

The comments section is certainly a wonderful way to get an ongoing conversation started, where issues can be explored more thoroughly than they can in a blog post of any kind--including an interview--since the featured author can focus on the specific issues that the readers find most relevant, directly addressing their concerns. Questions can be expressed, refined, and built upon, through each writer's input, to create a repository of valuable information that readers can return to again and again.

As I mentioned to Moonglow in my comment above, I may even turn the questions and answers into a separate blog post, if we receive enough relevant input from readers.

Thanks for your responsiveness to Writer's Notes' readers!
Jeanne

Hi Jeanne,

I haven't been on Orble in awhile. HELLO from s. Florida. Dream or Destiny sounds like a really interesting book. So cool that you're in contact with the author - hey Lillie!

I've been spending most of my writing time on cycling and fitness reviews and articles. My hobby has become my job I guess!?! Getting lots of cool cycling gear and equipment to review for my Bike Diva site - keeping me busy.

Trying to keep my 3 Orble blogs a bit more active so they don't get sent to the blog cemetery list - YIKES!

Take care,
Lynn

Thanks for the shout-out. It sounds like you've found the ideal niche for your writing. Not only do you write about what you love, you get lots of goodies!

Hi, Lynn!

Great to see you! I can imagine how busy your cycling and fitness writing has been keeping you! Hope all is going well with it.

Very good idea not letting your Orble blogs lie dormant for too long. The blog cemetary wouldn't be a good fate for them!

Dream or Destiny is indeed an interesting book. Lillie is a fellow blogger I came to know fairly early in my blogging career, and it's certainly been a pleasure knowing her! I've also learned a great deal about writing and publishing by reading her blog.

If you'd like to enter the drawing to win a copy of Dream or Destiny, visit my Dream or Destiny Book Review & Contest post before midnight U.S. PST tonight and leave a comment. And be sure to stop back tomorrow to find out who won, read a fascinating interview with Lillie, and ask her any questions you have about getting your own work published.

Thanks for the visit!
Jeanne
